This is a direct care clinical position that is primarily focused on the provision of counseling services to individuals with a primary mental health diagnosis. A Mental Health Therapist is responsible for the provision of a variety of services including, but not necessarily limited to; counseling, intake, referral, case management, and other duties related to the provision of professional counseling, as well as the appropriate maintenance of a client record. Assignments and other duties may be expanded based on the therapist’s ability and scope of professional expertise. Mental Health Therapists are directly supervised by the Program Director of the location where they work. Contact with individuals and groups, family members, managed care and insurance companies, and public welfare offices are a major aspect of this position. Ultimately, the Mental Health Therapist is responsible for the professional delivery of therapy services to those clients on his or her caseload, as well as the appropriate maintenance of all client records under his or her care. This includes assurance that all documentation in a client record is completed in a thorough and timely fashion and complies at all times with all regulatory obligations.
MSW, LSW preferred. A minimum of two (2) years paid experience providing mental health treatment. Demonstrated skills and knowledge in the delivery and theory of counseling. Demonstrated awareness and ability to effectively utilize the DSM. Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively in a clinical team-oriented environment.
