Jennifer Bullock, MLSP, M.ED
Jennifer is founder of the Philadelphia Center for Human Development, which is a hub for therapeutic, cultural and other community building activities committed to our growth and development. With 18 years of experience in the mental health and child welfare fields, Jennifer is a seasoned family, child and adolescent therapist. She directs a Social Therapy practice where she works with individuals, groups, couples and families. Jennifer has a passion for the power of creativity to help us grow emotionally and build the lives we desire.
Jennifer has clinical and forensic expertise in the arenas of childhood trauma and abuse dynamics. She has extensive clinical and forensic experience evaluating and treating children who have been severely traumatized by abuse and violence. Jennifer provides court testimony on child sex abuse investigations for civil and criminal proceedings. She holds an adjunct faculty position at Temple University, teaching psychology and criminal justice courses. Jennifer is a local, regional and national trainer on the art and science of communicating with youth. She conducts workshops and consultations for businesses, social services agencies and the broader community on topics of team building, stress management, and creating richer relationships at home and work. Jennifer holds a Maser’s Degree from Temple University in Counseling Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Law and Social Policy from Bryn Mawr College.

This 6 hour workshop offers didactic as well as experiential and interactive modalities and is ideal for social workers, clinicians and case mangers as well as any professional who works with children.
The workshop:
• Combines a practical overview of the signs and symptoms exhibited by children who have been traumatized
• Reviews interventions and treatment for children which are creative effective and supportive of children families and communities developing and growing from painful life experience
• Includes handouts, educational materials / power point as well as interactive exercises
• Includes opportunity for peer support and supervision
Goals and Objectives
1. Recognizing abuse / signs of abuse and trauma
2. Identify two top issues to address /look for in therapy with children who have been traumatized
3. Identify ways trauma can impact on memory
4. Differentiate between forensic and therapeutic intervention
5. Learn how trauma affect a child’s relationships and attachments
6. How to address Issues of trust, power, safety and betrayal to address in therapy/case management
7. Practical tips / what you can do to respond to traumatized child
